The Rockwall Women’s League (RWL) and Rockwall Noon Rotary Club joined together to pack backpacks for kids served by the Children’s Advocacy Center of Rockwall County (CAC). Dodie’s Cajun Diner at The Harbor welcomed Rockwall Rotarians and members of RWL into their restaurant to pack the backpacks with items such as pajamas, socks, toothpaste, and Play-Doh. According to Nancy Parkes, a Rockwall Rotarian and member of RWL, the CAC serves 100 children a year in Rockwall, and many of them come into their care with hardly anything at all.

“They come to the CAC and they feel terrible about themselves, they don’t have anything except the clothes on their backs they came in with. So at least now we can give them something brand new, something that can make them feel good,” Parkes said.
