As of now, the State of Texas no longer has any restrictions on Covid-19 vaccinations for anyone 16 or older. So, I ask, no encourage each of you to please get your shots…2 shots (unless the vaccine is Johnson and Johnson).

White Rock Rotary assisted the White Rock Rock Center of Hope (WRCH) with collating their quarterly newsletter. WRCH is a non profit that serves several Zip Codes in East Dallas. WRCH assists with food, clothing, and sometimes, financial assistance to those in need. The newsletter helps keep donations coming in for these activities.
On February 26th, the University of Dallas Rotaract club held a service project called the Brown Bag Lunch Program. 200 brown bag lunches were prepared for Mother Teresa food pantry and the following day they were distributed to the homeless in downtown Dallas.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, schools have understandably allowed limited interaction on campuses during the school day, which has changed the way we as Rotarians honor our local students. They’re no longer able to attend our weekly lunch meetings off campus to accept their Student of the Honor awards in person.
Mesquite Rotary Club President Dr. Angel Rivera presented a $3,500 donation check to the Mesquite ISD Education Foundation on March 24th. Foundation Executive Director Randy Lewallyn accepted the check.

For anyone unfamiliar with Bonton Farms, it was started by Daron Babcock several years ago as a way to bring food and jobs to a very poor South Dallas neighborhood in an area designated as a “food desert.” The farms have prospered and expanded to include the Bonton Market and a café that is open to the public for lunch, among other projects benefiting the community.
Congratulations to all our RYLead campers and staffers--we wrapped up our virtual camp RYLA this last month, and we have so much to celebrate! All students who were selected to attend the in-person Camp RYLA were invited to participate, and in the end, about 90 students participated in our first virtual camp, RYLead.
Members of White Rock Rotary purchased, delivered, and helped plant a vegetable garden for the Sisters of Charity (Mother Theresa's Order) in a 'food desert' area of South Dallas. We hope that this garden will grow and provide fresh produce for the local community. This would definitely benefit all concerned!
