I am so excited to kick off the 2024-2025 Rotary year with each of you. Thank you for this amazing honor to serve as your District Governor. Congrats to all the new Club and District officers on the start of your term on July 1st. Many of you were able to join us at the Installation Celebration, where many District officers and about 1/3 of the incoming Club Presidents were inducted before we danced the night away to our favorite 70’s and 80’s songs.

Camp RYLA 2024, by all accounts, was a raving success! Even though it has only been 1 month since we closed out the in-person camp program there is always lots going on for the students to continue the engagements from camp. Cabin groups are still making sure they keep in touch with each other throughout the summer months.

Friday, May 31 was the perfect day for the Rockwall Noon Rotary to hold their annual Clay Shoot raising funds to support Rockwall ISD scholarships. Premier sponsor, OMi, a national crane manufacturer, helped make the event one of the largest and most successful the Rockwall Noon Rotary Club has hosted.
During the week at RYLA, our campers had a great time participating in a large-scale camp wide service project in support of two community organizations, Metrocrest Services and the Veterans Resource Group. The campers hand packed over 1200 food and hygiene bags helping to meet the needs of fellow members of their communities.
The Rotary Club of Prestonwood and Rotary Club of Roatan have partnered to improve lives at Dionisio de Herrera Public School in Oak Ridge. This initiative includes a storage facility, a water pump, and a rain collection system. These components will ensure consistent access to clean water year-round for 850 students and approximately 1,500 community members.
The city of Anna recently presented the Hurricane Creek Rotary club a certificate of appreciation for their volunteer efforts in helping keep clean the city parks and other service projects.
The Preston Trail Rotary Club played a crucial role in ensuring the success of Celina's inaugural Rodeo! Our dedicated volunteers manned the gates throughout all three days, making it a memorable experience for everyone involved. Proceeds from this event will support scholarships for deserving students in Celina.
The Rotary Club of McKinney Sunrise has awarded $66,000 in scholarships to twenty-one high school seniors from McKinney! The recipients are members of McKinney Sunrise-sponsored Interact Clubs at McKinney North High School and McKinney Boyd High School, or they are family members of McKinney Sunrise Rotarians.
Hurricane Creek members helped serve food at The Samaritan Inn, it is a temporary housing charity that helps people get back on their feet after a major life event.
On May 17th the Melissa Rotary Club teamed up with the Melissa ISD Interact Club to help out the Melissa Community Outreach to sort and bag up Hygiene kits. These kits will go out to local residents in need of food and help. Service above self.
Rotary Club of Wylie East Fork proudly sponsored the Wylie Chamber of Commerce luncheon this week. The theme was Why Leaders Matter. Our esteemed president, Ofilia Barrera, spoke about why she joined Rotary, and invited the attendees to our weekly meetings.
The Rotary Club of White Rock, Dallas, TX has collaborated with the Sisters of Charity for a number of years to plant a vegetable garden in an community that is in need of easy access to a basic fresh vegetables source. However, this year members of our Club were asked to help beautify the area surrounding a women’s shelter in the area. This picture of our beginning garden is a reflection of the dedication of our club to the needs of our community.
What a tough decision it was with 37 impressive applicants, but we're thrilled to share that the Rotary Club of Coppell has awarded 5 scholarships worth $1,500 each to some outstanding Coppell Seniors! Congratulations to these bright and deserving students who will be pursuing their dreams at UT Austin, Carnegie Mellon, Texas A&M, and the University of Connecticut. Your future is looking incredibly bright!
