News From Around District 5810
District Governor Max Duplant's December Message
Unbelievable, we are already at the end of the calendar year.  Remember to make those contributions to Rotary Foundation and update your club membership lists by December 31!

So how is the year going so far relating to our District goals?  Based on the most recent numbers I have seen, Membership in our District has grown by 144 Rotarians! We have achieved 37% of our Rotary Foundation giving goals (please consider increasing your giving). We are continuing our plans for individual club service projects relating to Ending Human Trafficking in January.  Please make sure your club has decided on a project and communicated the details to our EHT chair Shirley Hsia.

Relating to one of our Strategic planning goals of increasing relations between clubs and Districts, in lieu of a December Roundtable, we are hosting a party at the Haggard Party Barn in Plano on Thursday, December 9 at 6pm. Admission is $20 per person to cover the costs of BBQ from Dickey's.  If you have not already done so, please register so we can have an adequate count for ordering food.  This party will not have a formal program so that all can mix and mingle with Rotarians across the District.  We will also have a representative from at least one of the not for profits dedicated to Ending Human Trafficking present to answer any questions you may have.

Are you interested in Rotary memorabilia ?  We have been made aware of a collection of various pins and other items looking for a home.  If you are interested, please let us know.

Wishing all of you and your families the best during this holiday season.

Max
