Our Rotary International Conference began this Saturday, June 1st. I know the attendees are excited to be there. For those of us that couldn’t attend, we can review the videos/reports on RI’s web-site. That will give us a blow by blow description of the event!
I want to express my gratitude again to all our Club members. Our Clubs run the show. Our District leaders are there to help you meet your goals and open new doors of service. Never forget that as Rotarians, we are making a difference in our communities and touching the furthest reaches of the world. Spend the month of June celebrating your accomplishments and helping our new members get acclimated in your Club.

Mesquite Rotary acting president John Taylor presented a donation of $5,000 to support the work of Sharing Life Community Outreach at the club’s meeting on May 7th. Sharing Life’s Executive Director and CEO Teresa Jackson accepted the check, and expressed her gratitude for the funds that will assist area families in need.
Bonham Rotary with the assistance of Alicia Caylor Lewis, a teacher at the I. W. Evans Elementary School, they have for the past 5 years helped teach their 6th graders about water conservation and why it is so important.
On Saturday April 13, 293 Rotarians, Interactors, and volunteers came together at McKinney North High School to celebrate the accomplishments District 5810 achieved over the course of the year at Spring Fling. Twenty eight Interact clubs were named as a Club of Excellence and six were recognized for some of their greatest achievements such as the Highest Earning Fundraiser by John Paul II High School Interact Club ($6000) and the Most Service Projects by Singley Academy Interact Club (16 service projects).
The Rotary Club of Lake Texoma completed its second annual NoPolio 100 Bike Rally in April 2019. Proceeds from the two rally’s resulted in a total contribution of $11,000 donated to RI’s polio worldwide polio eradication effort. The rallies were held in south Grayson County with riders coming from as far away as Round Rock, Texas.
Grand Prairie Metro Rotary Club Members came together this Memorial Day with their Mayor, Key City Leaders and Distinguished Veterans, to Honor and Remember those who served and gave their lives to Preserve our Freedom and Way of Life.
Saturday, June 15th, at 9:00 AM, “trumpets will sound, bands will march” and McKinney Rotarians will celebrate the fruition of the largest fund-raising project in District 5810’s history! Okay…no trumpets or bands but the two McKinney Rotary clubs, Sunrise Rotary Club and McKinney Rotary Club joined into a public/private partnership with the City of McKinney in the spring of 2015 for the first All-Abilities Playground in McKinney to be a part of Bonnie Wenk Park Phase II and just a few short years later, four to be exact, the Grand Opening will give children and young adults with special needs a place to be outdoors and play!
Zain Kalson, Interact District Governor for District 5810, has been invited by Rotary International to speak at the upcoming Zone Institute on September 28, 2019 at Overland Park in Kansas. The Rotary Zone Institute 25b and 29, convened by Rotary International Directory Larry Dimmitt, constitutes of District Governors, District Governor Elects, and District Governor Nominees as well as Foundation, Public Image, Membership, and Training Chairs from over 30 Rotary Districts. This event will include Rotarians from Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, Wisconsin, Canada, northern Illinois, South Dakota, Kansas, Nebraska, and Texas.
