Dear People of Action aka District 5810, I can't believe 7 weeks of the 2024-2025 Rotary year have already passed, and I feel we have all settled into our new routines. Club Presidents have more confidence; plans and projects are taking shape for the year; the first new members have been inducted; and several projects have been completed. I want to express my gratitude to the clubs I have already visited. Everyone has been so welcoming and so generous.
The Service Project Center, Rotary’s new hub for everything related to service, is now live. It gives you a better way to manage and share information about your service projects. With service networking moving to this new platform, Rotary Showcase has been retired. All Rotary and Rotaract projects that were posted on Rotary Showcase have been migrated to the Service Project Center, which is being released in phases.
We are excited to announce the rollout of our new Public Image Champion Games! The Public Image Champion Games were designed to help Clubs increase their public image skill set. The more you promote your Club, the better the odds are at increasing your membership. It is a win-win all around!

On July 12, a team of Rockwall Rotarians stepped out on another hot summer day to serve the larger Rockwall County community. Working with the North Texas Food Bank, the team helped distribute food items to those in need.
Despite the hot weather, thousands of people lined the streets to enjoy the RCPC Fourth of July Parade. Hundreds of families came to the Festival in the Park after the Parade for the patriotic speeches and the family friendly fun.
Mike Callahan presented The ROC (Metro Family Ministries) with a check for $1,000 to assist them in rebuilding their damaged building during the last storm. Darrell Lancaster accepted the check and thanked Prestonwood for their continued commitment to The ROC.
Wylie East Fork Rotarians spent a fun afternoon loading student's backpacks with school supplies to get them ready for the school year! 5 Loaves Food Pantry held their annual Back to School Bash, and 500+ kids and their families checked off their back-to-school lists with pencils, crayons, glue sticks, folders, rulers, and more! We sponsoring this feel-good event and wish all the kids good luck in the 24-25 school year!
Members of the Grand Prairie Metro Rotary Club spent Saturday morning processing, sorting, and packing shoes for Buckner Shoes for Orphan Souls. Buckner Shoes is the largest humanitarian aid project of Buckner International, serving the world’s most vulnerable children internationally and locally.
North Texas Pioneers and Plano Sunrise Rotary clubs work together every year to have the Battle of the Badges (police and firemen) blood drives. This year there were 18 blood drives during the week of July 8/14.
Rockwall Noon Rotary held a celebratory year-end luncheon with awards, recognitions, and the passing of the gavel to the incoming board. Outgoing club president, Lorne Liechty provided a year in review detailing seven successful service projects including those with Food for Kids, North Texas Food Bank, Rockwall County Meals on Wheels, and Helping Hands.
Sangkoo Yun, of the Rotary Club of Sae Hanyang, Seoul, Korea, is the selection of the nominating committee to become Rotary International’s president for 2026-27.
