I don't know about you, but it is amazing to me that we are starting the last quarter of the Rotary year, and the velocity will increase going towards June 30th! Paul Harris's birthday is April 19th, and he would have been 155 this year. Wish him a Happy Birthday at you're next event or club meeting! Also, this month is Environmental Month.

Assistant Governor’s packed up 5,600 books, 164 hygiene kits and assorted supplies into 120 backpacks for children in Roatan. The backpacks will be delivered on the stopover in Roatan on the District Conference Service Cruise.
We had a very successful gathering of approximately 35 attendees representing over 20 clubs in our district. We had a couple of clubs that do not currently have flag programs, but attended as they consider adding a flag program. Betsy Ross Flag Girl, a flag supplier to several of our clubs, sponsored the refreshments and came offering a 25% discount on flag orders.
The McKinney Rotary Club had a presentation by Patriot PAWS Service Dogs on March 3. Speakers were Ambassador Sharon Scott (also a member of this Rotary) and Trainer Lauren Villanueva.
Last Thursday, Plano Rotary Club recognized members Peggy Fenwick, Nancy Humphrey and Mary Jo Dean for their outstanding leadership and volunteerism. March 8 is International Women's Day and this was an excellent opportunity to feature some of the things they do that no everyone sees.
February 23rd the Dallas Rotary Club and Safer Dallas Better Dallas hosted the 14th Annual Dallas Police Department Distinguished Service Award and Public Safety Leader Award Luncheon.
The Rowlett Rotary Club has added a new monthly Lunch & Learn meeting every second Tuesday 12:00-1:00 at the Rowlett Chamber of Commerce building. Guest speakers share news about the city, local community, statewide updated, and informative information for personal welfare.
The March/April 2023 edition of the Prosper Living Magazine carries an article written by Harlan Jefferson. Harlan is the current Chapter President of the Prosper Rotary Club. Harland does an excellent job describing the Rotary Club and the local non-profit organizations supported by our club.

Members of the Suicide Prevention and Brain Health Rotary eClub are continuing to be “people of action” during this Texas Legislative Session, collaborating with MOAA (Military Officers Association of America), NAMI (Nat’l Alliance on Mental Illness), AFSP (American Foundation for Suicide Prevention) and MHA (Mental Health America) to “advocate” (part of our “CAUSE” or purpose) for legislation related to mental health and suicide prevention.
Grand Prairie Metro Rotarians rolled up their sleeves and put on their work gloves to participate in this year's "Big Event," a one-day, citywide volunteerism day where volunteers are matched with qualifying service projects at homes of people who need help, celebrating unity in the community.
On March 4th the Richardson Rotary Club sponsored a Carter Blood Drive. Our volunteers staffed the welcome table all day in three shifts. Donations of food and clothing items were also collected for The Network of Community Ministries.
Last month, Plano Community Rotaract welcomed Barbara, David, Memo, Omar, and Rodrigo from the Rotaract Club San Nicolás de Los Garza Bicentenario. They drove all the way from Monterrey, Mexico to Dallas to visit our club. By creating this Rotaract Friendship Exchange, we shared our time, homes, and culture and established new friendships.
Rowlett High School teacher Mr. Craig Vitosh has taken the RHS INTERACT CLUB to a new level of growth within the school and involved community projects. The club currently has 30 members and enthusiasm is growing.
Coppell Rotary was happy to provide funding to the Coppell Historical Society for the development of the Bethel School Steps Flower Garden located in Heritage Park in Old Town Coppell.
This past Saturday, Plano Rotary Club was well represented at the downtown Plano Texas Forever Fest. A troupe of heros showed up to support Rotary and raise money to support our commitment to Plano ISD Education Foundation.
The Suicide Prevention & Brain Health Rotary eClub promoted suicide prevention and brain/mental health awareness while sharing our eClub member resources with attendees and other vendors at the annual Mental Health America (MHA) Adolescent Symposium on March 2-3 in Plano. With MHA’s outstanding education sessions, there were more than 700 registrants, providing us with the opportunity to connect with attendees from many backgrounds and geographic locations.
The Coppell High School Interact Group has big plans. To fundraise for their Ethiopia STEM Education Class Project they have planned many events for Coppell and surrounding community students.
