Trudy and I have had a really great time visiting District 5810 clubs, both virtually and in person. We’ve visited 45 clubs so far with 16 left to go. I continue to be very pleased at the way our Rotarians are handling this Pandemic and continuing to meet as a Rotary Club.

Every year, Rotarians and Rotaractors across the globe mobilize for World Polio Day to raise awareness about eradicating polio for good. If we stay committed, polio will be the second human disease ever to be eradicated.

Frisco Sunrise Rotary Club Sponsored Friendship Baptist Church of The Colony (FBCTC) Food Pantry Program. The Food Pantry provides a significant supply of groceries for families to prepare nutritional meals for a family of four.
On July 18, 2020, District 5810 comprised of 60 clubs, conducted a virtual “Awards Night for the Rotary Year 2019-2020”. McKinney Rotary Club member CC Theophine Chamakala received the District Leadership Award.
On September 5th Tommie Wright and her husband Roy from the Richardson East Rotary Club delivered SEVENTEEN pallets of diapers, paper goods, cleaning products & food to the Network of Community Ministries.
The Rotary Club of Denison recently raised $25K to present to their local Denison Police Dept. to purchase a new k9 unit. The money was raised by two years of golf tournaments. The funds were received through sponsors, players and raffle items.
Two recent grants by the Prestonwood Rotary Club Foundation have added to the club‘s long-standing dedication toward helping children throughout Dallas.
The Addison Rotary Club held the 30th Annual Addison Rotary Open (ARO) was held on September 14 at Gleneagles Country Club. The club took extra efforts this year to follow COVID-19 safety guidelines including staggered starting times, barriers in golf carts, social distancing and mandatory masks.
The Rockwall Rotary Club recently partnered with the Rockwall High School Interact Club to help those in need. The groups joined forces for the District’s Shoe Drive to help with local and international community development. The effort garnered a ton of support!
The Mesquite Rotary Club recently surprised John Todd during a club Zoom meeting with ceremonies honoring him for attaining 50 years as a club member. After praising Todd’s record of service to the club and community, Rotary president Dr. Angel Rivera turned the ceremonies over to club member Todd Price.
With the continuing impact of COVID-19, many in our community are in serious lack of sanitation and hygiene supplies. The Melissa Rotary participated with the Melissa High School Football team to honor the memory of 9-11 and first responders. Melissa Cardinals Football team came onto the field carrying Rotary Flags with a tribute to those who lost their lives on 9-11 and the first responders.
On Saturday September 19th, the Irving Sunrise Rotary Club participated in the City of Irving's 29th Annual Trash Bash. We added this to our monthly Adopt-a-Spot program.
