Park Cities Rotary recently joined forces with the North Texas Food Bank to make a substantial impact on local communities. On May 3rd, a dedicated group of 25 volunteers from Park Cities Rotary gathered at the food bank's facility to lend a helping hand. Their mission: to sort and pack nutritious meals for children and seniors in need.

In celebration of Spring and our growing District membership, 20 of us from District 5810 gathered on 4/12 to stuff 2,500 Easter eggs with candy and box 184 pairs of donated shoes from many clubs. The eggs will be given out this week to several charities, including Jonathan's Place, Cathedral of Hope, Grand Prairie YMCA, Grand Prairie Family Care, Vogel (2 locations), Network of Community Ministries and Richardson Senior Center ...
World Immunization Week is fast approaching on 24-30 April. This is a critical time to raise awareness about the importance of immunization and the safety and effectiveness of vaccines.
In response to hunger across the globe the Rotary Club of Dallas provided 72,000 meals to be distributed by Feed My Hungry Children. Dozens of volunteers including Skyline Interact, Faith Family interact, Rotarians and family members gathered to package the food for shipping. Just four days later the packages were shipped to Peru to feed the critically hungry there.

On March 27 the Addison Rotary Club proudly donated 10 innovative Language Learning Systems to the Anne Frank Elementary School to empower parents in supporting their children's education. With a student body from 60 countries and speaking 24 languages, this initiative bridges language gaps and fosters a more inclusive learning environment.
The Mesquite Rotary Club hosted its annual "Four Way Test" Speech Contest at the Mesquite ISD David Belt Professional Development Center on April 8th. Contestants from Mesquite I.S.D. high schools participated in the event. Each student gave a five-to-seven-minute original speech about applying the Rotary Four Way Test in our everyday relationships with other people and students.
As part of the District’s endeavor to support clubs and their communities, over 2500 plastic eggs were filled by Rotarians and Interactors this past Saturday for distribution to various community organizations. Over 500 were given to the Grand Prairie YMCA in support of their annual event.
We are excited to share that Prestonwood Rotary Club again hosted its Annual Fire-Rescue Appreciation Day at Cafe de France, a remarkable event that highlighted the invaluable contributions of our Dallas FireRescue (DFR) officers. The event was led by PRC President, Bill Persefield, and Margaret Silva, Vocational Director.
North Texas Pioneers had an enjoyable morning helping to clean the litter from Oak Point Park in Plano. With ten members working for about an hour each they were able to pick up ten large bags of litter from the park.
On Tuesday, April 8, the Rotary Club of Duncanville delivered their “blessings” to the DISD Bus Depot and UME. The blessings included ice machines, air fryers, Keurigs, microwaves, and hundreds of snacks and drinks. Overall, Duncanville Rotarians have renovated 20 campuses!
Our very own Coppell Rotarian, John Hill (center) was honored at the Train & Help Babies Spring Celebration! He, along with Coppell Rotary, was recognized for their unwavering commitment to saving mothers, families, and babies across India.
Since 2001, RCD partnered with Scottish Rite Hospital to develop a bike safety course for children. This year many children from age 3 to mid-teens arrive on the grounds of the hospital to ride bikes around a course where they experience safe ways to enter the roadway, cross an intersection, to pay attention to the area around them, etc.
The Mesquite Rotary Club inducted another outstanding citizen into the Mesquite Rotary Grove of Honor at the site in DeBusk Park, adjacent to the Kidsquest playground, on April 15th. Former Mesquite City Council member and longtime community volunteer Debbie Anderson was inducted as the club continues catching up after the pausing of inductions during the pandemic.
In mid-April, Coppell proudly hosted its Four Way Test Speech Contest with 9 incredible contestants! Congratulations to Sandhya Karthick, our returning champion from last year, who once again took home 1st place! She won $500 and will go on to compete at the District event! Rotarians were absolutely enthralled by the thoughtful, passionate, and inspiring speeches from all participants. What an amazing showcase of talent and character!
