This is the final edition of the 2020/2021 District Governor’s report as my term comes to an end, and I hand the reigns over to DGE Max Duplant. Max is eagerly awaiting her turn as District 5810’s Governor. I ask that you join me in giving Max your complete attention and cooperation for her term, as you did for mine. Olympic Day Irving-Las Colinas weekend events will include sports, cultural and educational activities including an Olympic Day Run (Family Fun Walk & Run, 5K and 10K distances), sports tournaments, exhibitions, music and educational seminars.

Rotary of Wylie East Fork members Becky Welch, Sam Satterwhite, Bryan Brokaw, and Chris Gaston flipped hundreds of hot dogs for hungry racers and spectators. Wylie 500 Pedal Car Race benefits area Special Olympics. Youth ages 2 to 5 years raced 500 inches down Historic Downtown Wylie.
On Friday, May 14, 2021 the McKinney Rotary Club presented a $1,000 check to Fr. Renny Kattel in support of Covid relief in Kottayam, India. Funds will be used for the purchase of 100 PPE kits.
Plano West Rotary Club coordinated with the restaurant Greek Isles in order to provide lunches on May 11 to the Plano Police Department. Volunteers picked up the lunches from Greek Isles and deliver them to the hard-working officers at their main station!
Rotary Club of Dallas' Annual charity golf tournament and dinner raise funds to help protect Dallas residents, continue ongoing partnership with Dallas Police Department.
On April 27 the McKinney Rotary Foundation presented the MISD Project Graduation a check for $1,000 and to the Community Garden Kitchen a check for $2,500 in support of a security system.
RCPC has entered a new collaborative partnership to co-sponsor the Plano Community Rotaract Club. We are partnering with the North Texas Pioneer Rotary Club in our sponsorship.
Sharon Scott, Community Service Chair of the McKinney Rotary Club, presented $2,200 to Emily Johnson for the Samaritan Inn’s ‘Sponsor a Child’ Program. $500 covers the basic needs of one child while in their care.
The Mesquite Rotary Club has presented scholarship awards of $1,500 each to students from each of the Mesquite and Sunnyvale area high schools, and to a student from the Mesquite Academy. This investment by the club in the future of these deserving area scholars totaled $12,000.
The Irving Sunrise Rotary Club and the Dallas Rotary Club agreed to partner on funding 8 water wells and a latrine in various communities in the Accra area of Ghana Africa.
