I recently listened to a recording of the Zone webinar that presented the many plans for Rotary for the next three years. I was taken by three words that were mentioned more than a few times by the presenters.
One was Leadership. Our leaders of the future, from Zone to District to the Club level, will do well by creating teams to carry out the many tasks of membership, foundation, service projects and public image. Teams need leaders. We should aspire to be the leaders that teams need to set goals for our future.
The second was Inspire. We should inspire our teams to do their tasks at the club and district levels. Supporting the Foundation or growing membership should have an element of fun included. There should be values that are understood and accepted. Our leaders ought to inspire their team to reach the goals that are set.
The third word is Passion. We should have a strong feeling for the importance of what we are leading our teams in doing. Being successful in those areas that are part of Rotary depends on our passion for doing them well.
I encourage you to get the most from the PETS experience and then at the District Conference and Assembly in April.
