RCPC member and dentist, Dr. Michael Rainwater reported that Dentistry with a Heart" celebrated it's 12th year on October 5th, 2024, providing $ 35,690.00 of dentistry to improve the lives of our patients and provide an opportunity for all volunteers to make a difference. The team treating 26 patients from the Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center and Agape Clinic, for basic dental services of extractions, fillings and cleanings.
The Salvation Army has been a partner with D.W.A.H. from our 1st year and not only helped identify patients but hosted our dental pre- screening on Sept. 30th. This early screening improved time and patient flow and allowed patients to go directly to their dental chair. Thank you to Javance Johnson and Captain Cheryl Gibson with Salvation Army, Park Cities Rotarians; Fred Brown, Dr. Michael Rainwater, Pam Carvey and Mary Bishop as the pre-screening enabled a great start for the treatment day.
This was the 7th year working at Agape Clinic. This partnership of amazing Agape staff, private practice dentists, hygienists and assistants, along with Park Cities Rotary organizing the event each year, gave patients the dental treatment needed, health vitals were checked and each can return for future care at Agape for medical and dental needs.
Park Cities Rotary volunteers who guided us through the day; Chair - Fred Brown, Karen Farris, Chief photographer Phillip Bankhead, Paul Hoffmann Executive Director of Agape Clinic, Ley Waggoner, Richard Stanford, Pam Carvey, Barbara Jeffries, Barbara Marcum, Walt Marcum, Holly Hollenbeck, Jodie Ray, Kacey Lambert, Patsy Watson, Mary Bishop and Michael Rainwater.
We had six dentists who volunteered their time, as well as two volunteer hygienists and six volunteer dental assistants. Working with the Agape Clinic staff is always such a blessing. They have a truly a great Team!
