North Texas Pioneers and Plano Sunrise Rotary clubs work together every year to have the Battle of the Badges (police and firemen) blood drives. This year there were 18 blood drives during the week of July 8/14.
Volunteers from both clubs worked hard to get donors. The donors voted for either the police or the firemen. This year the firemen got the most votes with a total of 221 votes which was very close to the police with 199 votes. 335 units of blood were donated which will help save 1005 lives. Pictured is a representative of the Plano Police and Firemen, Bud McBrayer of the Plano Sunrise Club and David Torres of the North Texas Club who is also a dedicated donor. This is a good way to give back to the community and while doing it have fun!
