On Saturday, March 22, under the leadership of Leon McCowan, the DeSoto Rotary Club teamed up with Concerned DeSoto Citizens (CDC) and DeSoto ISD for the Annual Bowling for Scholars event, raising funds for the DeSoto ISD Senior Class of 2025. The event saw incredible community participation, with over 65 teams from local businesses, organizations, and schools coming together in support of DeSoto’s graduating seniors.
With a lively atmosphere filled with laughter and camaraderie, the event raised more than $9,200 for scholarships. The DeSoto Rotary Club proudly placed third in fundraising efforts, but the true victory was the overwhelming display of unity and support. Attendees included members of the DeSoto Police Department, DeSoto ISD campuses and staff, DeSoto PTSA, DeSoto ISD Superintendent and Trustees, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Phi Beta Sigma & Associates, the Mayor of Desoto & city staff, and community business partners.
