On November 13th, 2025 The Carrollton-Farmers Branch Rotary Club hosted their 22nd Annual Veteran's Appreciation Luncheon. Military Veterans from each of the branches were represented in the room. Club President, Kita Hobbs was the Master of Ceremonies, she stated, "Service above self is the motto we live up to in Rotary, and our Veterans are the perfect display of that. We are honored to celebrate them each year."
Speakers Alan Mesches (Air Force) and Retired Col. Michael McCollum (USMC) gave a tribute to the late Lieutenant General Richard E. Carey who passed away at 97 on April 25th, 2025. Lieutenant General Carey, devoted 38 years to serving his country with honor, courage, and commitment. From the Korean War to Vietnam, his leadership and valor embodied the finest traditions of the Marine Corps. A decorated combat veteran and respected commander, General Carey’s legacy endures through the lives he led, the Marines he mentored, and the nation he served. His memory stands as a lasting tribute to duty, sacrifice, and the enduring spirit of the Corps.
 
Through this event, CFBRotary raises funds to give back to local Veteran focused Non-Profits in our area. This year's recipient's Disabled American Veterans, Marine Charitable Trusts and Valor Vets each received $2,600 from the club for their Mission.
