For World Polio Day the Melissa Rotary Club held their 5th annual Chili Cookoff and Cornhole Tournament to raise funds to fight Polio worldwide. The Club invited the community to support the effort and enjoy a fun time of Chili, Cornhole and general fellowship with neighbors and friends.
The Melissa ISD Interact group helped with setup, cornhole scorekeeping, ticket sales and the Chicken Bingo. Chicken Bingo was popular with folks guessing which square would receive the first chicken droppings. The competition for best chili and to win the cornhole battle was fierce but friendly with the winners taking home some cash prizes. With the help of many local sponsors the club raised over $1,200 to aid the fight against Polio.
