Coppell Rotary and CHS Interact groups brought RISE AGAINST HUNGER to Coppell on Mya 21st. The group raised over $4,000 which provided the funds to make 10,000 meals.
Over 70 volunteers showed up to spend over 2 hours making meals which will be distributed to Zimbabwe and the Philippines. Ashley Mues Conlon, Rotary coordinator for the event said "Coppell jumped on this event, it was a way for families of all ages to give back. We only promoted RISE for a 14 days and were able to obtain the funds to make 10,000 meals." This was a combined effort between Coppell Rotary and the Coppell HS Interact Club, there are plans for another RAH next spring. Rise Against Hunger is an international hunger relief non-profit organization that coordinates the packaging and distribution of food and other aid to people in developing nations. This non-profit is supported by Rotary International.
