Happy New Year!

It’s here.. the year of Vision! A new decade begins for Rotary District 5810. As we look back on what you have accomplished, we realize 2019 was quite a year. From January to December, you have accomplished such good work for your communities and the world.
You gave generously to Polio, and as the wild virus is still spreading in Pakistan and Afghanistan this year, eradicating this disease remains our organization’s world wide focus. This year, so many of you honored Veterans and our troops in many special ways. We have started our new multi-club initiative, the Navaho water and solar light project, and we will keep you posted on how we are progressing. We may have delay our Road trip for their reasons, but one day we will get there to help the people where we are sending needed services.

Which brings us to getting plans accomplished. We start with our Biggest Public Image contribution, the Rose Parade on January 1. Taking a large contingent to publicize Rotary and enjoy fellowship to work on the float is a great Fun way to kick off our year; watch for a large Penguin hoping to fly, as we highlight how HOPE Connects the world, the float’s theme.

Training is always an important key to our success. We have Leadership Training, REAL, in January and PETS Training for President -elects and President - nominees.... Please register for BOTH important classes. On January 27, there is a Zoom conference with our PI committee about the Presidential Citation, and I know every club can achieve this attainable goal. DGE John Moser’s District Assembly will take Place in March- this event is for ALL Rotarians, especially the new officers and committee chairs for each club.

And the Foundation gala is going to be so much fun, you do not want to miss it. Start looking for your Roaring 20’s outfits, your Downtown Abbey costumes, or just your tux and try your luck at our casino . Clubs- here is a great way to publicize your fundraisers... we are asking for tickets or registrations to any event you hold to be donated to the District as silent auction prizes. Other silent auction items are needed as well; let’s see how creative Clubs can get with exciting prizes. All proceeds go to End Polio Now, the RI Foundation’s top priority.

Don’t forget to submit you Why Rotary? Story- just 50 words or less to express why you joined Rotary and why you stay in Rotary. The prize is 2 tickets to the Gala. Click here to submit your story.

So let’s make 2020 a visionary year! It’s a chance to make progress on our shared vision- to make our communities, our nation and our world a better place.

Make each day Amazing in 2020!
