Hi all - I finished the rest of the 58 club visits last month!! I learned a few things on all of these visits: all of our district Rotarians are amazing, we are making a difference every day in our communities and the world (based on the wonderful projects I learned about) and many of the clubs have the same challenges. You need more members to help you do the work you want to do in your community and you're looking for more engagement from the members you have.
In my visits with the club boards, we discussed some ideas that you could pursue to grow your membership and also some thoughts on more creativity on your meeting times and types. In addition, we looked at different types of membership structure that you could consider.
You also shared that you want new ideas for projects and for fundraising. We will cover that in our next Club Leadership Exchange meeting on January 10. I will be asking for three clubs to present a great project that they have done and three clubs to present a successful fundraising idea that they have used. Please come and get/ and/or share new ideas!!!
The photo attached is of a Club Presidents Happy Hour that we had in McKinney. We also had one in Duncanville. These are great chances for clubs to network. I also plan to do one in the East and West sides of the District in the spring.
My next focus will be on DG visits to the Rotaract and Interact Clubs. They are an integral part of the future of our district! I would also like to help with your club projects and attend your events - please invite me!
The next event you should attend is Jingle and Mingle on December 12! We will be collecting toys for kids and Santa will be there! Please buy your tickets NOW! There are still some available. Hope to see you there in your favorite holiday attire. Can't wait to see who wins the table decorating contest!
YES - the holidays are upon us and I am reminded of the great gift I was given this year - the chance to get to know all of you better and to serve our District. Thank you for your support and your trust in me.
Happy Holidays to you and your families,
Mary
