Hey all - it's already September! Have you ever had a "Rotary Moment"? The picture with this letter is of me with a man named Chris who noticed our Rotary branded clothes and walked up to our table at Landon Winery. (Yes, I was having pizza and a beverage with some members of the Coppell Club.) He told us that Rotary changed his life.
. He went on to explain that he was a Rotary Exchange Student in France and had a wonderful experience there. Turns out that he is a flight attendant for American Airlines and lives in the area. I think he needs to be a Rotarian!
SO - we are 8 weeks into the 25-26 year and some amazing things are happening!! I have completed 22 club visits as of this writing and have had some really great conversations with all of you! We've talked about solutions for membership issues, just plain administrative questions and the importance of onboarding new members the right way.
This month, please do a couple of things: sign up for Rotary Direct and give to Polio and also attend our Club Leadership Exchange (CLE) event on September 13. You will hear all about our continuing efforts to eradicate Polio and meet some Polio survivors who are members in our District. World Polio Day is October 24 - what will you do that day?
I am honored to serve you all this year! See you soon - maybe at the Awards Banquet on September 4?
YIR,
Mary
