In August and September the Newman Smith Interact Club, Carrollton-Farmers Branch Rotary Club and the Plano Community Rotaract Club have collected and packed 260 boxes weighing 5,504.5 pounds with 14,202 books and lots of school supplies.
Books were donated by PISD Wells Elementary and 8 CFBISD elementary schools (McCoy, Country Place, Farmers Branch, Carrollton, Stark, Freeman, Good and Furneaux). These donations will be delivered to Roatan, Honduras and Cozumel, Mexico in April, 2023 when our District enjoys its Annual Conference on the Royal Caribbean Allure of the Seas.

Newman Smith Interact Club is holding a Halloween Sale at the October 8th Roundtable to pay for these school supplies, which were purchased during the "Back to School" sales in August when crayons and spiral notebooks were only $.35 each. District 5810 Interact Governor Luke Edwards has set a 20,000 book goal so they will continue to collect K-5 books in English and K-12 books in Spanish to help them reach this goal. All clubs can participate.

Please bring your books to any District Roundtable so they can be boxed and ready for the cruise. We will deliver all of these donations during our port days. Please contact Regina Edwards at regina.edwards888888@gmail.com for more details and to participate in this joint District project that joins Interact, Rotaract and Rotary Clubs together in one goal: delivering 10 pallets of donations including 20,000 books to Honduras and Mexico. Thank you for your support.
