The Rotary Club of Plano West showed what service and fellowship look like in action at this year’s Plano Balloon Festival. Over four unforgettable days, more than 20 of our members joined forces with 30 additional volunteers to run our legendary funnel cake booth.
From morning until night, the air was filled with the sweet smell of frying dough and the sweeter sound of laughter. Together, we sold nearly 3,700 funnel cakes and more than 900 bottles of water. In total, our team raised over $49,000, every dollar dedicated to projects that bring hope and practical help to our community and beyond.

But behind the numbers lies the heart of the story: the teamwork. Members rolling up their sleeves, volunteers smiling through long shifts, friends working shoulder to shoulder until the last funnel cake was served. It was a celebration not just of food and fundraising, but of the spirit of Rotary, of determination, joy, and the power to do good when we act together.

As the balloons rose into the sky, so did the pride of our club. We did not just bake funnel cakes. We baked memories, raised funds for service, and reminded our community that Rotary is here to make life better, one act, one project, and sometimes one funnel cake at a time.
