Combating Hunger and Malnutrition are service focus areas that many of our clubs work.  This month Rotarians and Rotary Clubs have an easy way to participate in a regional food drive that has been conducted in north Texas for two decades by Scout.  On, February 16th  approximately 500,000 donation bags, which this year features the Rotary Logo, will be distributed by Scouts in North Texas
and the following Saturday, the bags will be picked up by Scouts and all of the food donations delivered to the North Texas Food Banks, or to a Neighborhood Food Pantry.  If your club is not already participating in some way, helping out with this Food Drive is as simple as making announcements at club meeting to increase awareness, conducting a food drive within a club or making a cash donation to a neighborhood food pantry or to the North Texas Food Bank.  A list of Scouting contact persons and map indicating their primary geographical focus is available on the district website as is a list of NTFB partner agencies and an image of this year’s Food Donation Bag.
