The Waxahachie Rotary Club hosted an unforgettable 1st Annual Distinguished Officers Awards – Honor Our Heroes event on Thursday, March 13, during our noon meeting. The room was filled with energy, gratitude, and a shared commitment to Service Above Self as we recognized some of Waxahachie’s finest public servants.
Rotarian Stephen Hunt led the event masterfully, guiding us through a program filled with appreciation and inspiration. After the Pledge, song, and a heartfelt invocation, we welcomed a room full of distinguished guests and took a special moment to acknowledge our veterans for their service.
A key highlight was the introduction of our newest committee, Honor Our Heroes, led by John Forest. David Pittman shared a moving message, followed by a powerful video showcasing the impact of honoring and supporting first responders in Dallas.
The most meaningful moment came when we recognized two outstanding public servants: Officer Christian Garcia – Honored by Chief Joe Wiser (Waxahachie Police Department) Captain Billy Vest – Recognized by Chief Ricky Boyd (Waxahachie Fire Department)
Congratulations to these incredible individuals for their dedication and service. Service Above Self is more than a motto—it’s our mission.
