It was wonderful for Park Cities Rotary to be able to celebrate the Fourth of July with a full-fledged parade after two years of scaled back festivities.
This year the Parade was ON! Enthusiastic crowds lined the sidewalks to admire the about 200 entries, such as dignitaries, decorated automobiles ranging from Model Ts to more modern convertibles, fire trucks, bands, and floats decorated by neighbors, school teams, or local businesses.

The theme this year was “Together We Serve.” Our Grand Marshal was Donna C. Pierce, an influential and well-loved teacher in the Highland Park ISD for over forty years. The best news was that incoming RCPC President Jeff McNaughton got to give Trisha Cunningham, RCPC member and CEO of the North Texas Food Bank a check for $35,181, with additional donations still coming in. The check represents the contributions of RCPC members, our sponsors, and supporters, with some strategic use of matching funds. The check, using the Food Bank’s formula, represents 105,543 meals. It was a GREAT day, successful and fun!
