Here we are, six months after the first shelter-in-place order, still masked and distanced. Yet with every problem comes opportunity. One of Park Cities Rotary’s collaborative partners, Agape Clinic in East Dallas, has been open throughout.
Agape Clinic’s mission is to provide quality health care services unconditionally to underserved people. Rather than reducing their caseload during these difficult times, they realized that families have lost their insurance, and they have welcomed even more patients.

Most recently they have been given a medical van so they can take their services “on the road.” The first step was to get it wrapped, then to refurbish it and bring it up to date. Seeing a particular need in low income communities, they have decided to outfit the van into a mobile COVID testing unit.

That is where RCPC comes in. Not only is it a new Rotary year, but also a new fiscal year with money available from the RCPC Foundation to be used for grants. At their initial meeting of this year, the Foundation Executive Committee voted to grant Agape Clinic $5,000.00 to help them outfit their new mobile van. We hope to be able to see it when it is wrapped and ready, but whether we do or not, we know that it will widen the impact of Agape Clinic and provide additional health services to the neighborhoods with few, if any, healthcare options.
