
The Plano Flags of Honor event is just around the corner, and we invite you to be part of this incredible week-long tribute to our nation's soldiers and first responders. From November 9-16 at the Red Tail Pavilion formerly Oak Point Park, over 1,000 American flags will be on display, each representing the bravery, sacrifice, and service of our community's heroes.
Key Events to Look Forward To:
- Plano Safety Fair – Learn valuable safety tips from local first responders and explore fire trucks, police cars, and more!
- Tethered Balloon Rides – Experience a breathtaking view of the flags from the sky. Perfect for families and kids!
- Fire Truck Pull – Watch teams compete to pull a fire truck in a show of strength and community spirit.
- Quilts of Valor Ceremony – Witness veterans being wrapped in handcrafted quilts that symbolize healing and appreciation.
- Car Show – Admire an array of classic and modern vehicles while supporting our soldiers and first responders.
- Boy Scout Flag Retirement Ceremony – A solemn and respectful tribute to retire worn American flags.
And these are just a few of the activities planned! The event also features live musical performances, food trucks, and plenty of family-friendly fun. Check out our event timeline for days and times.
Get Involved
As Rotarians, we have a special role to play in supporting this event. There are several ways you can participate:
- Attend the event with your family and fellow club members to honor our heroes.
- Volunteer to assist with event activities, help with flag setup, or support event logistics.
- Sponsor a Flag in honor of a soldier or first responder who has made a difference in your life or community.
