The Melissa Rotary Club invited the community to unite in support of Wreaths Across America, an organization whose mission is to remember the fallen, honor those who serve, and teach the next generation the value of freedom. In preparation for the event, Rotary and Interact members visited the Melissa Cemetery to carefully mark the graves of veterans, ensuring that every hero resting there would be recognized and honored.

On December 13, 2025, under a crisp winter sky, community members gathered at the cemetery for a heartfelt ceremony beginning at 11:00 a.m. The event honored veterans from Melissa and the surrounding region of Texas, highlighting stories of service, sacrifice, and the enduring impact of those who wore the uniform.
Following the brief program, volunteers of all ages joined together to lay evergreen wreaths on the graves of local veterans. Each wreath served as a quiet, powerful symbol of gratitude — a reminder that freedom comes at a cost, and that those who gave everything will never be forgotten.
The event brought together families, neighbors, and supporters in a shared act of remembrance, reflecting Rotary’s continued commitment to honoring those who served. Through this community tradition, the spirit of service and appreciation lives on, inspiring future generations to remember the value of freedom.
