The Sherman Rotary Club donated $10,000 to build a new playground at Hawn Park off South Dewey and East Thomas streets. The upgrade has been in the works for almost a year, and the playground equipment company matched Sherman Rotary's $10,000 to make it happen.
The rotary club said they're now trying to remodel one park every year. The rotary club also presented another $10,000 check today to Parks & Recreation for their next project: New equipment for Cherry Street Park.
