Park Cities Rotary members Michael Rainwater, DDS, and PP Fred Brown spearheaded another Dentistry with a Heart, using the dental facilities at Agape Clinic, one of RCPC’s strategic partners. Dentistry with a Heart on October 18 provided free dental services including cleanings, fillings and other treatments, worth $34,172 to 26 patients.
The patients were identified by the Salvation Army and by Agape Clinic. Prescreening was done ahead at the Salvation Army which improvied time and patient flow and allowed patients to go directly to their dental chair on event day. Dentists, hygienists, dental assistants, a dental resident and dental students volunteered their time to provide these services. Since it began in 2010, 621 patients have received over $430,000 in free dental services. Agape Clinic treats both the dental and medical needs of low-income Dallas area residents.
