The Town of Highland Park and the City of University Park each have their own Police Departments, Fire Departments and an array of public service workers that keep our communities functioning. Some are long-term employees and all are dedicated to their work.
Our Fourth of July Parade and our Snider Plaza Tree Lighting could not go forward without their help and support, but they make the lives of Park Cities residents go more smoothly on a daily basis. This came into sharp focus this past winter when snow and record cold caused an unprecedented number of water main breaks, broken pipes within homes, and street flooding which turned into icy streets.

We realize we do not thank our cities’ employees often enough. RCPC decided to invite to lunch and recognize one outstanding public service worker from Highland Park and one from University Park each month this year. The four we have met so far are truly outstanding individuals who routinely “go above and beyond” on behalf of our communities. We hope that this recognition will help to show how much we appreciate them.
