The Rotary Club of Park Cities has created a new club award for the first time since 2014. It is the Stan Wright Community Service Award. It memorializes the community service of our late member, Stan Wright.
Although he had been a member for just over eight years, he quickly became engaged in service activities, including organizing the activities at the park after the RCPC Fourth of July Parade, among others. He was best known for his commitment to the North Texas Food Bank. He coordinated RCPC’s volunteer days with the Food Bank’s Mobile Food Pantry, and also worked with the Food Bank to organize Food Packing Days for RCPC members. He was well-liked for his friendly, upbeat attitude and sense of humor. The whole club was saddened when he passed away unexpectedly. At a club memorial his daughter said that Stan loved Rotary as well and could be counted on to be at weekly meetings.

The new Stan Wright Community Service Award will be awarded for the first time this year to a member who has engaged in outstanding service to the community. It is truly a fitting memorial to Stan’s many hours of dedicated community service.
