Members of the Rotary Club of Park Cities returned to the North Texas Food Bank for their Fall Volunteer Packing Day. It has been a tradition for many years to have a Fall and a Spring Volunteer Day, as well as adding their support for the NTFB through proceeds from the Fourth of July Parade and the December Tree Lighting.
RCPC Member and CEO of the NTFB, Trisha Cunningham, reviewed the impact RCPC at a recent meeting. She said, in part, “Since 2016 when RCPC designated the NTFB as the beneficiary of the Annual Fourth of July Parade, it has provided over 1.8 million nutritious meals for our neighbors facing hunger!” She continued, “RCPC’s advocacy and dedication in getting the word out about NTFB and helping raise funds to support our mission and eliminate ‘Food Insecurity’ in our community, has had a huge impact.” The mobile food pantry RCPC donated to the NTFB in 2015 is still in use, but has a new role at the new Crossroads Community Services, which is a hub and spoke distribution center for the North Texas Food Bank. What a privilege it is to be able to work with an organization which is so responsive to the fundamental needs of our community.
