Darby Nielsen concluded her year as Rockwall Rotary president expressing her appreciation to the board and club membership for an outstanding year - including their successful fundraising clay shoot. This year's event being their most successful ever allowing them to award substantial scholarships to Rockwall ISD students.
Nielsen also gave out awards:

Service Above Self Award awarded to Stacy Massar, for her “commitment to developing young leaders and tireless dedication to meaningful projects that define Service Above Self.”

Star Award awarded to Harold Snyder, “the quiet powerhouse behind each meeting, who puts in too many hours to count, and who always show up for whatever the club needs.”

President’s Award awarded to Noel and Sherry Williams, “who while newer members, eagerly jump in with both feet and willing hearts to serve at every event.”

Naming two Rotarian(s) of the Year, Nielsen recognized Greg Blair, who spends many hours managing Rotary Hall and taking the lead on sponsorships and serving at the heart of what the Rotary mission stands for. Also awarding the honor to Kayne Pierce, Treasurer, for his leadership, patience, and steady hand behind the numbers. Noting his reassuring voice behind the decision-making with wisdom, clarity,
and when needed, a hint of concern.

Following the awards presentation, the new board and president, Kenda Culpepper, was installed.
