On Saturday, November 3, Rotarians around the area should be prepared for an abundance of hearty home-cooked food, delicious wines, exciting opportunities and warm spirit as the Rotary Club of Dallas-Uptown presents its fifth annual Men Who Cook fundraiser. The event takes place at The Lawley Art Group, 1507 Dragon Street in the Design District from 4-7 o’clock PM. Tickets are $35 each. Click here to purchase.
The program includes a large and varied silent auction – items are still trickling in but already we have a chocolate tour, a pub crawl and other Dallas adventures to go with fine arts, intricate crafts, elegant artisanal products and gift certificates from some of the finest local vendors. A live auction features several amazing surprises to bid for. There is a wine pull, with each ticket bringing you a valuable bottle to enhance your personal collection. Music and entertainment complete the cozy and eclectic atmosphere of the Gallery.
But the stars of the evening are the twenty “celebrity” chefs – many of whom are Rotarians or have strong Rotary ties. In the past, guests have sampled filet mignon, gumbo, fried chicken livers, chili, chicken and dumplings and a host of wonderful comfort foods cooked with love and dedication. Delectable pastries and chocolates will top off the meal, and this year, we are featuring small batch fair-trade coffee as well.

All sales benefit the Uptown Club’s causes which include our Dictionary Project (dictionaries presented to DISD third graders), as well as support of Hope Cottage Pregnancy and Adoption Center, Dallas Firehouse #1, Bonton Farms and a host of other community and global programs.
