On Thursday, July 31st at 3:00 p.m., the DeSoto Area Chamber of Commerce proudly hosted the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Creations by Xochitl Hernandez, LLC, a blossoming small, local community business founded by 13-year-old Latina artist and entrepreneur Isabella Xochitl Hernandez. The event was a powerful testament to youth entrepreneurship, community pride, and the vibrant spirit of DeSoto Texas Rotary.

Isabella’s mother, Rosa E. Hernandez, is the newly elected President Nominee of the DeSoto Texas Rotary Club. Isabella often volunteers alongside her mother at Rotary events, embodying the organization’s core value of “Service Above Self.”
Over 35 guests gathered to celebrate Isabella’s accomplishments, including her family, friends, civic leaders, and proud members of the DeSoto Texas Rotary. Among the notable attendees were DeSoto Mayor Pro Tem Crystal Chism, DeSoto Area Chamber President Cortney Beaugard, City Council District #2 Representative Pierette Parker, DeSoto ISD Superintendent Dr. Usamah Rodgers, and Desoto Texas Rotary leaders Velma Davison, Rosa Hernandez, Leon McCowan, and Shelonda Weaver. Also present was Isabella’s proud mother, father, big brother, best friend, and many other family members and supporters.
Isabella’s creations—ranging from original artwork to custom-designed journals, candles, and home decor —reflect her unique vision and deep-rooted love for culture, creativity, and community. At such a young age, Isabella is not only launching a business but building a movement that inspires other youth to lead with passion and purpose.
As featured on her website, Creations by Xochitl Hernandez stands for more than products—it stands for self-expression, identity, and local empowerment. “Everything I create is a reflection of who I am and who I’m becoming,” Isabella shares.
The event was a tremendous success, marking the beginning of a promising journey for Isabella and her business. The presence of civic and community leaders, family, and friends affirmed what DeSoto Texas Rotary already knows: when we come together to uplift our youth, we build a brighter, bolder future for all.
