DG Mike Callahan's September Message
Hello to my fellow District 5810 Rotarians.  August has been a very busy month for our clubs and district. We began the month by sending many of our district officers to the Rotary Multi District Training Institute in Pflugerville. RMDTI offers some excellent training for all types of positions on both the club and district levels.

RI Club Excellence Award Winners!
This month, Rotary International awarded the Club Excellence Award to 11 of our District 5810 clubs.  This award is Rotary's highest recognition for club achievement.  The award is earned by entering your club's goals in Rotary Club Central, selecting half of the available goals, achieving those goals and entering the results in Rotary Club Central by June 30.  Congratulations to all of these clubs!  They went above and beyond in service, leadership, innovation and member engagement!!

RYLA North Texas Giving Day Just Around the Corner !!
A RYLA Alumni Fundraising committee is hard at work to make the most of North Texas Giving Day (NTXGD), coming up on September 17th. NTXGD is a massive regional campaign to raise funds for hundreds of local non-profits, and for the last several years, RYLA 5810 has participated to raise funds to help continue all the on-going district RYLA programs that extend beyond Camp RYLA and throughout the year.

Prestonwood Rotary in Action: Over 4,000 Meals Packed!

Service in action! 21 members and friends of Prestonwood Rotary came together to support Feed My Starving Children, working side by side to pack more than 4,000 meals for children in need around the world.

It was a wonderful example of what Rotary is all about—fellowship, teamwork, and making a meaningful difference through service.

A big thank you to everyone who participated and helped turn a few hours of volunteering into thousands of meals and a lasting impact.

McKinney Rotary Helping Students Start Strong!
Last week, members of the McKinney Rotary Club rolled up their sleeves to support the McKinney ISD High School Supply Drive. From collecting much-needed school supplies to helping stuff backpacks, our Rotarians were proud to lend a hand to local students.

Helping Children in Peru
North Texas Pioneers service project this month was sending $500 to Venice/Nokomis Foundation through the Venice, Florida Rotary club. The foundation provides reconstructive surgery for children in Peru with cleft lips and palates.

Help Us End Polio: Become a Sponsor of the World’s Largest Polio Walk
On October 24, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., Rotary members and supporters across District 5810 will join communities around Zones 25B & 29 for the World’s Largest Polio Walk in recognition of World Polio Day. Our goal is big: raise $25,000 for polio eradication in District 5810. We Need Sponsors to Help Us Reach Our Goal!

Serving Up Support at the Ronald McDonald House

On the third Monday of every month, members of the Rotary Club of Park Cities gather for an evening of service at the Ronald McDonald House. Rotarians cook and serve dinner for families staying at the house, helping provide a warm meal and a little comfort during what can be a challenging time.

RYLA 5810 Foundation Fundraising Gala
Rotarians, mark your calendars! The RYLA 5810 Foundation is hosting its Fundraising Gala on November 6th, and we'd love for your club to join us. For 35 years, District 5810 Rotary clubs have made RYLA accessible by funding scholarships, so students attend at no cost and introducing them to Rotary's "Service Above Self" motto along the way. Thank you for this incredible investment in developing future leaders.

Coppell Holds It's 4th Annual Notes & Nibbles
On August 20, the Rotary Club of Coppell, along with community volunteers, held its 4th Annual "Notes & Nibbles" Snack Pack Event. In just 30 minutes, volunteers packed more than 300 snack bags for Coppell ISD students who may come to school without a snack.

Prestonwood Grants $6,000 to the ROC in Garland

Prestonwood Rotary Club is proud to provide a $6,000 grant to the ROC in Garland to help replenish supplies for its after-school programs serving underprivileged children.

The programs suffered losses following recent storm damage, making this support especially timely. The grant will help the ROC replace essential supplies and continue providing a safe and supportive environment for children in the community.
