Yes, come join with your Rotarian friends and families on July 22 at the ballpark and cheer the home team on as they play those dastardly Dodgers from Los Angeles. We want to begin the new Rotary year with some fun and fellowship. We are inviting our Rotarian friends in our neighboring District 5790 (Fort Worth and beyond) to join us , too.
First stop on the District Service Cruise was in Roatan, where we delivered 209 boxes and 71 backpacks with 14,433 books and school supplies for the children. Also delivered were 160 feminine hygiene kits for empowering girls. Our work tour in Roatan, included painting a kindergarten and playground.
Day 5 of the District Service Cruise was in the port of Cozumel, Mexico where Rotarians carried ashore 40+ backpacks containing assorted school supplies and musical instruments weighing approximately 160 pounds. All year long, District 5810 has been collecting and delivering school supplies, children's shoes, and children's books to Cozumel with the help of Carnival Breeze Cruise line. A total of 260 boxes of supplies and books and 125 pairs of shoes were delivered.
Vickie Campbell, President Elect, delivered a $3000 donation in February 2023 to Dr Charles Parchment, Christtel Caceres, Mike Wittry and Ana Flores, President of the Rotary Club of Roatan, for the installation of a catchment water system at C.E.B. Guaymuras school in Roatan.
The Tanzania Children’s Choir (TCC) will be in Dallas Friday June 16th, then any day from June 19 through June 23rd. They are looking help finding a venue to give performance and if possible for a few Rotary (or partner with another Rotary Club) to host them while in Dallas.
Camp RYLA 2023 is set to kick-off in less than a month. Planning and finalizing of all the details is at full speed at this time. We will go to camp with 187 students selected by the clubs in District 5810 and approximately 75 staff members.
The Rowlett Rotary Club and Rowlett High School Interact Club had a great cleanup of Kenwood Heights Park on Saturday April 1st. Rowlett held a citywide cleanup. Thanks to everyone for a successful community cleanup.
Coppell High School Rotary Interact Club is working hard to raise money for students in Ethiopia. These dollars will fund a Tech, Engineering & Business curriculum, written by the Interactors and distributed to schools in that region. To raise money they held an online chess tournament, Knights For A Cause, and raised $250. Rotary Club of Coppell sweetened the donation by awarding the club with an additional $500!! These students are making a difference in the world!
Mesquite Rotary vice-president John McClellan presented donations of $2,000 to assist the Scouts BSA Circle Ten Council in funding local scouting programs, and of $1,000 to assist the North Mesquite High School baseball program at the club’s meeting on April 4th.
On Saturday, March 25th the Melissa Interact Club, a high school organization sponsored by the Melissa Rotary Club, led a community project to sew and fill boxes of pillowcase dresses to ship to Africa and many other countries.
Plano is fortunate to have five thriving Rotary clubs, each with its own personality. Together We Are Stronger - Multiple Clubs in One City Are Partners Instead of Competitors. Plano Rotary Club is the oldest club going back almost 77 years.
The Rowlett Rotary Club participated in the DFW USOPA awards banquet. It was great to meet so many Olympic and Para Olympic Athletes. The stories that everyone told were incredible thanks to Sammy Walker, President of DFW USOPA for honoring local Olympic Athletes.
On April 3 members of White Rock Rotary Club and John Curtis, District Governor Elect, came together to work on a garden project for the Sisters of the Missionary of Charity in south Dallas.

Rotarians from the Park Cities Rotary Club came together on Saturday morning, April 22nd, with INTERACT Members and Students from Hillcrest High School for RCPC / NTFB VOLUNTEER DAY! We packed the equivalent of 14,500 meals on Saturday morning for their “School Pantry” program ~ bringing nutritious food to children impacted by food insecurity!

The Rotary Club of Dallas, in partnership with Texas Scottish Rite Hospital, and Dallas Fire & Rescue, held the Annual Rotary Club of Dallas Bike Rodeo and Child Safety Day as an educational and entertaining morning for families on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital.
The Melissa Community was invited to a free luncheon hosted by the Melissa Rotary Club April 13, 2023. Robert Palmer, BSN, RN, CEN, the Stroke Coordinator at Texas Health Allen, spoke to around 20 members and leaders of Rotary and the Melissa Community.
