It’s here.. the year of Vision! A new decade begins for Rotary District 5810. As we look back on what you have accomplished, we realize 2019 was quite a year. From January to December, you have accomplished such good work for your communities and the world.
For the thirteenth year the Rotary Cub of Park Cities joined with the City of University Park to kick off the season with the Snider Plaza Tree Lighting and street party. An estimated 6,000 people attended to enjoy the fall weather, the music, the Fun Zone, and the food and beverages. Even Santa attended
Volunteers from the RYLA Student Advisory Group and RYLA Alumni enjoyed their annual Angel Tree event at North Park Mall on November 30th--the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
The Plano Sunrise Rotary Club is proud to announce with their last Blood Drive they generated 627 units of blood. Through this effort, theyhave created the potential to possibly save up to 1887, lives.
Every year, Coppell Rotary Club participates in the Metrocrest Services Holiday Basket Program for Seniors. Many Seniors are forgotten this time of the year, Coppell Rotary Club supplied food and gift items from gift lists supplied by the Metrocrest Seniors.
Some of the District gathered for an Evening with Santa. Toys for hospitalized children and socks for veterans were collected. All who attended learned of some of Santa’s personal experiences delivering toys as he took time to visit candidly with attendees! Thanks , Santa, for a fun evening.
The Guerrero Rotary Clinic in Chihuahua, Mexico is the longest active Rotary clinic of its type as it approaches 40 years of operations. 60,000 indigent patients (Mexicans, Tarahumara Indians and Mennonites) have been treated at no cost to them. While every patient is an eye patient, the clinic provides additional medical services like dental, general medicine and certain specialties.
Addison Midday Rotary Club Members Corky Pledger and Cynthia Allison spent December 11 buying $2,000 worth of presents for ‘Santa's Heroes’, sponsored by the Addison Police and Fire Department.

The RYLA Information Roundup for the District 5810 Camp RYLA Program will be held Saturday, January 18, 2020 at the Addison Conference Centre, 15650 Addison Road, Addison, TX 75001. Rotary Club RYLA Chairpersons should attend this training program designed to get Camp RYLA 2020 recruiting and selection started. The meeting is the only chairpersons training of the year so every club should be represented.
The training is from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. RYLA manuals and recruiting materials will be distributed, including copies of the new Camp RYLA and Making a Difference video. The meeting is also open to any Rotarian interested in learning more about Camp RYLA prior to the 30th annual leadership camp. July 26 – July 31, 2020.
