DG Howard Templin's February Message
As many of you know, February’s is Peacebuilding and Conflict Prevention Month.  Rotary has been dedicated to peace building since the early days of Rotary and Paul Harris was a major leader for this.  Check out the articles in this month’s Rotary Magazine.  A subscription is included in your RI dues.  You have an option of having it mailed to you, or you can download the magazine from the website or read it on line, if you wish.  Here’s the link (note you may have to log in 1st, thin click the link(:  Magazines | My Rotary
Rotary Theme 2023-24 Revealed
Rotary International President-elect R. Gordon R. McInally announced his theme for the 2023-24 Rotary year, “Create Hope in the World”. He explained that the goal is to restore hope to help the world heal from destructive conflicts and to help achieve lasting change. He emphasized the need for peace and continuity, including work to empower women and work toward diversity, equity, and inclusion, while not neglecting our mission to end polio.
We Love Our Foundation Valentine's Dinner
Join us for an evening of connection, relationship building and fun as we celebrate our support of The Rotary Foundation on Thursday, February 9th at 6PM at Maggiano's Willow Bend, 6001 W. Park Blvd., Plano, TX 75093. Open to all Rotarians! Cost is $68 per person.
Club Leadership Training Assembly - Registration Open
Registration is open for the Club Leadership Training Assembly on Saturday, March 25 at the Collin County - Plano Campus, 2800 E Spring Creek Pkwy from 8:30AM to 12PM. The cost is $20. Training for all Rotarians including officers, directors and Club members. Click to Register.
Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI) Training - March 2023
Take your leadership skills to the next level with Rotary Leadership Institute Training! There are 3 separate training sessions (3 hours each) held on Zoom. Cost is $50 per session. Must take the sessions in order. Session 1 training begins March 2023. Learn more. 
Public Image Champion Games - Cash Prizes
We KNOW you’re excellent at what you do. Because of YOU, District 5810 was awarded a "2021-2022 PUBLIC IMAGE CITATION" for Zone 25B. Give yourself a round of applause for a job well done - promoting yourself in the community, at District and Rotary International! And we KNOW you’ll do it again this year. 
New Opportunities for Rotary to Support Communities in Need
As a global humanitarian organization, Rotary continually takes action to help communities in need. The Rotary Foundation has established two temporary funds to support immediate relief efforts in Pakistan and Ukraine. 
Austrian Gluhwein Event Benefits Shelterbox Aid To Ukraine
The Opa's Gluehwein fundraiser was started in December 2020 by Drs. Beth & Hubert Zajicek, as a fun and safe way to enjoy the Christmas lights in a time when it seemed like fun was "outlawed".

Santa's Heroes
The Addison Rotary Club and the Addison Midday Rotary Club hosted a community wide pancake breakfast to honor first responders and raise funds for the Santa's Heroes program run by the Addison Fire and Police Departments, respectively. A check for $1,900 was presented to David Jones, Addison Fire Chief on January 10.
Memorial Service Project
Daybreak Greenville packaging hygiene kits. These kits will be utilized for the homeless who visit the weekly mobile shower provided by United Way of Hunt County.

McKinney Rotary Supports Kids Against Hunger!
The McKinney Rotary Club celebrated the New Year on Friday, January 6, 2023 with Tom and Sharon Brian from Kids Against Hunger!
5th Monday Volunteering
Fifteen of our Richardson Rotary Club members met at The Network of Community Ministries Volunteer area at Noon on January 30th.  We spent the next hour boxing up food to be provided to Network’s clients. Another 5th Monday opportunity to volunteer and socialize for a great cause.
Feeding Refugees at St. Patrick's
White Rock Rotary had a blast serving over 100 refugees at St. Patrick's.  The refugees were from several different countries. They really enjoyed their lunch!

Plano West Serves Guests at Overnight Warming Station
On the very cold evening of Jan 25, volunteers from Plano West Rotary joined volunteers from area churches and the Collin County Homeless Coalition to serve guests as the Plano Overnight Warming Station (POWS) opened.

Books Collected by Duncanville Interact
The Duncanville Interact Club  collected and donated 1,633 books weighing 506 pounds for the District Conference Service Cruise. The K-5 books will be delivered to Cozumel, Mexico and the 6-12th grade books will be delivered to Roatan, Honduras at the District Conference Service Cruise in April.

Coppell Rotary ls Listed Among Some Big Players With The WHO
One of Coppell Rotary's Global Grants is to end the devastating global crisis of micronutrient malnutrition.
Ride for Rotary in India - 2023
Wylie East Fork Rotarian Charlie Waller is participating in the "Ride for Rotary in India" which is a fundraiser to raise money for polio! Charlie has sent photos of his fellow Rotarians and friends he's made on his journey through India on his motorcycle. According to Ride for Rotary, he will finish his adventure this weekend in Mangalore.
Dallas Rotarians Save Families from Evictions
3-day eviction notices were issued, and court date set until the Dallas Rotary Club Foundation "Kidwell/Cooper Grant" provided emergency assistance and stopped the evictions for two families!
Youth Service
The North Texas Pioneers Rotary Club is proud to Charter 7 of the Units in BSA Chisholm Trail District. Three of our members are Scout leaders in the District. COR/Cub-Master, Daniel Long, Sargent at Arms Ed Rys, and Scout Master Jim Wright.

A Wondeful Evening Honoring a Remarkable Man
Happy 100th Birthday, C. C.! It was a wonderful evening honoring a distinguished and very special member, PDG C.C. Collie! RCPC members, his family, and other special guests assembled at Lakewood Country Club on December 15 for this Holiday and Birthday Party.
White Rock Rotary Assists Local Resource Center
White Rock Rotary members and friends assisted with a mailing for White Rock Rock Center of Hope, an amazing non profit that aids the needy in northeast Dallas with clothing, food, and rent assistance.  It was a 'sit down' job that needed to be done at short notice. White Rock Rotary was glad to help. The group of volunteers was treated to a tour of the updated facility after helping.
