On April 4, the DeSoto Rotary Club teamed up with the DeSoto Fire & Rescue Department and the DeSoto Police Department to present the first annual DeSoto Rotary Easter Egg Hunter for the DeSoto ISD community. The family-friendly event drew kids and adults alike for a morning of fun, laughter, and community spirit.
The Easter Bunny made a surprise appearance, leading children in a lively bunny-hop dance before families enjoyed photos, coloring activities, and time with local first responders. More than 10,000 eggs were scattered across two exciting egg hunts, and officers and firefighters joined children in coloring and hunting—creating a joyful, welcoming atmosphere for everyone.
We raffled beautiful Easter baskets, danced all morning with the Easter Bunny, and shared in fellowship that brought neighbors together across generations.
We extend a heartfelt thank you to the many volunteers who made the day possible: the DeSoto ISD PTSA and student volunteers, Fire Chief Southard, Mayor Pro Tem Chism, DeSoto City Councilmember Parker, our dedicated police officers and firefighters, the Easter Bunny Xochitl Hernandez, community volunteers Daniel & Xavier Hernandez, and Rotarian President-Elect Rosa E. Hernandez along with fellow Rotarians Leon McCowan, Shelonda Weaver, David Scott, Warren Adams, Crystal Chism, and Velma Davison.
