Hello, fellow District 5810 Rotarians. What an amazing month October has been. I’ve visited forty-five D5810 Rotary clubs so far and met some amazing Rotarians.
World Polio Day Highlights
I spent several nights during the past two weeks at various District 5810 events highlighting the work our district is doing in the fight against polio. I played Music Bingo with the Plano club. I sat on a dock at White Rock Lake with the Dallas club during Pints for Polio and won a gift prize (beer socks) at Pours for Polio with the Richardson and Richardson East clubs.
More than 200 walkers joined together in North Texas to support Rotary’s global effort to eradicate polio. On October 24, District 5810 Rotarians and community supporters gathered at Brookhaven Main Campus in Farmers Branch to take part in the World’s Largest Polio Walk in recognition of World Polio Day.
With more than 200 walkers participating and $25,000 raised, District 5810 demonstrated the power of a community united behind a common cause.
Participants came together to raise awareness, support Rotary’s polio eradication efforts, and help protect children around the world from a disease that remains a global health threat.
